We Need Mass Organizing to Defeat State Violence

Marx, Lenin, and other theorists of socialism are teaching me how the state and capitalism function, which in turn has helped me to understand imperialism, colonialism, oppression, and my own lived experiences.
Additionally, Marxist history has taught me the power of the working class. When discussing and deciding democratically with clear intention and action, the outcomes have better results—but of course not without repression from the state. The immense and powerful state violence is an essential topic for us to discuss. How do we protect ourselves? How do we hold ground? How do we support, and gain support in numbers?

Lesser-Evilism Has Led Us Here…

In 2020 I voted for Joe Biden because I believed it was imperative that Donald Trump no longer continue to hold Presidential power in the United States. I believed his blatant goal to establish a dictatorship was a serious threat to this supposed “land of the free.”

After the election I shared a picture of an “I voted” sticker and was proud to be part of getting rid of Trump, yet I was still skeptical of what was to come with Joe Biden. I just knew Trump had to be stopped. Most recently, I re-shared this post on February 22 of 2024 and captioned it: “What a joke!”

Eat the Rich

The image is of planet Earth encapsulated by flames to represent climate change. Big corporations or billionaires burn fossil fuels, the mass production of beef which causes deforestation, the use fertilizers and equipment that produce carbon dioxide, nitrous oxide and harmful man-made gasses; all of which ultimately deplete the ozone layer which protects us from the harmful ultraviolet light rays of the sun.
In the image the Earth is clearly distressed and has chosen to consume a miniscule number of individuals. This is an attempt for survival. On the left is Richard Sackler, an American billionaire, businessman and physician. Richard Sackler is best known as the developer of OxyContin. Richard Sackler is the cause of the Opioid Crisis in the United States. His net worth is currently $1 billion dollars, while the Sackler family as a whole is worth about $15 billion.
